Eligibility Criteria for SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination :

The minimum educational qualification required for applying to the SSC Examination (Combined Graduate Preliminary) is a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of any recognized Indian University. The age limit of candidates applying for the various posts are listed below :

For Assistant Grade & Sub Inspectors in CBI, candidates must be aged between 20 and 27 years.
For Inspectors of CE / IT & Divisional Accountants/Auditors/ UDCs etc., candidates must be aged between 18 and 27 years.
For Sub Inspectors in Central Police Forces, candidates must be aged between 20 and 25 years.

NOTE : Upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes etc. as per the norms stipulated by the Government of India.

SSC Examination (Combined Graduate Preliminary) Pattern :

The SSC Examination (Combined Graduate Preliminary) is divided into two stages, each carrying maximum marks of 100 and having duration of 2 hours. The First Section tests the General Intelligence & General Awareness of the candidates while the Second Section is on Arithmetic.

Each section contains a total of 100 questions of objective type, multiple-choice pattern. Questions of the examination are set in both Hindi and English.

Updated Exam Pattern For SSC CGL :

Staff Selection Commission has decided to reduce the Number of Questions from 200 to 100 in Tier-I of the above Examination which would continue to carry 200 marks. The duration of the Tier-I examination would be for a period of 60 minutes. It has also been decided to conduct the Tier-I and Tier-II in computer based examination mode in place of OMR based examination mode. SSC CGL Exam Conduct In 2 Tiers :

The final merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e. Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately. There will be no sectional cut-off. Document Verification will also be conducted as per the provisions of the notice of examination

SSC CHSL (10+2)/ MTS/ Stenographer’s Grade C Examination :

Grade C Stenographers for the Central Secretariat.
Grade C Stenographers for the Railway Board Secretariat.
Grade II stenographers for the Indian Foreign Service.
Grade C Stenographers for the Armed Forces Headquarters.
Stenographers in Govt. Offices and other Departments which are not part of the above Services/Departments.
